Day 67: All 7 components
7 components: brass, steel, plastic, patina, enamel paint and mild steel
The seven little components will be screwed together to complete one structural form. It took long time to finish making each one so they are ready to be part of something but I created one by one without planning how they would fit together. As long as the ends are screw cut to allow them to merge into one solid structure the number of little components I can add will be countless, which will be joyful and playful.
7-5-4-2-1 components
The second image above shows the process of how all the components assemble into one structure. It was enjoyable and I applied three different patinas, which was new and more challenging. I can’t deny that I prefer all the components before assemblage. I think it is because it is a little overwhelming to use so many colours and spray paint at the same time. It is breaking its balance. It looks too complicated when they are together.

But it gives me a good idea for a little section of my window exhibition at Small Space Jewellery in September in Fitzroy. I will mostly show my perforation collection but I would like to present a small part of my new pipe collection. It will be a visual representation of how they have built from one little pipe into a piece of jewellery using the pipe structures idea.
Every thing is connected and happening simultaneously.
이 일곱개의 작은 부속품들은 하나의 구조물을 이루기 위해 서로 나사형태로 조여지게 될 것이다. 하나하나를 무언가의 부분이 되기위해 만들어가는 과정을 오래 걸렸으나 나는 사실은 이것들은 어떻게 하나로 합칠 것인지에 대해서는 계획하지 않고 하나하나를 만들었다. 그 하나의 온전한 구조물로 합쳐지게 될 것을 약속하는 나사형태로 끝이 잘려지는 한 내가 더할수 있는 작은 부속품의 숫자는 셀수 없을 것이다. 그 과정은 즐겁고 유희적인 것이다.
두번째 이미지는 모든 부속품이 하나의 구조로 합쳐지는 과정을 보여주는 것이다. 즐거운 과정이었고 세가지 다른 파티나를 각각 사용했던 것은 새롭고도 힘든 것이기도 했다. 그러나 나는 조립되기 이전의 부속품들의 형태가 더 좋은 것을 부인할 수가 없다. 그 이유는 많은 색들과 스프레이의 동시적 이면서 좀 과다한 사용 때문인 것 같다. 결과물이 너무 복잡해보인다.
그렇지만 그것은 또한 9월에 있을 피츠로이 구역의 스몰 스페이스 장신구의 창문 전시전의 한 작은 부분에 대한 좋은 아이디어를 주기도 한다. 내 천공 콜렉션을 대부분 선보일 예정이지만 새 파이프 콜렉션의 작은 부분을 보여주고 싶기도 한다. 하나의 작은 파이프로부터 어떻게 그 구조물을 이용해 장신구가 탄생했는지에 대한 중요한 시각적 진술이 될 것이다.
모든 것들은 연결되어 있고 동시에 일어난다.
