Day 28: New Materials New Ideas

One suggestive the assembled.

Now I have a plan for the exhibition.

I am no longer planning for how many jewellery pieces I will make for the show. Instead I am focusing on everyday’s productivity. From now on I will make 2~3 pipe structures everyday, considering their interchangeability. I have already made the pipes interchangeable with bolts and nuts giving them a stronger identity. The possible structures with the same components will be varied. I can introduce any new surface technique, new materials and new technology for any individual piece.

For the exhibition I can show several assembled pieces and demonstrate or show a video demonstration of how they can be assembled and disassembled to make the show more interactive with viewers. Key words for this journey are Inspiration, connectivity, interchangeability, interactivity, journey, originality.

이제 전시회에 대한 계획이 확연해졌다. 더 이상 몇개의 장신구를 만들겠다는 계획을 세우지 않고 대신 매일의 생산성에 중점을 둔 계획을 세울수 있게 되었다. 이제부터는 매일 교환가능한 구조를 가진 2~3개의 파이프 구조물을 만들 예정이다. 이미 볼트와 너트로 이런 가능한 구조를 가진 파이프를 만들어 여기에 더 강력한 독자성을 부여하였다. 이같은 종류의 기능을 가진 부속품을 가진 구조물의 가능한 형태는 정말 다양하다. 여기에 나는 새로운 표면 테크닉, 새로운 재료 그리고 새로운 기술등을 각각의 작은 구조에 언제든지 시도해볼 수 있는 것이다. 

전시회에는 조립된 작품 몇 점 그리고 조립하고 다시 분리하는 과정을 보여주거나 그 과정을 담은 비디오를 보여줄 수도 있겠다. 이 여정의 중요 언어들은 영감, 연결성, 교환성, 상호작용성, 여행, 독창성 등등이다.

이 모두는 깊이 연구할 가치가 있는 주제들이다.
