Day 81 : Work 81. For the last 3 weeks...

I have been researching digital marketing for the last 3 weeks. The purpose is to apply for artists’ grant as well as to adapt my practice in this unusual circumstance of COVID-19 outbreak. There is a plethora of advertising for digital marketing, social media marketing and branding, etc. It has been honestly too overwhelming to give consideration to.

Honestly who will be really responsible at the end of the day, who will know what will happen and how can I trust them? And even I know that nothing will be dramatically change my practice at all how will I control the disappointment at the end of it? Where is the end? Will I be satisfied only with the process? What is the real result? Is it the number on my account? Is that all? What is the pursuit of happiness or meaningfulness in this process?

After more than 10 years of professional practice the prospect of my career as an artist is not always rosy. On one hand I feel like I can do anything and try everything but on the other hand I am inexplicably desperate so that seem to be stuck in perpetual misery.

However, I am very glad to announce that I have got Covid-19 quick response arts grant by city of Melbourne. With their partial funding I am able to keep going with this project, “ My LaLa Land” (Supported by the City of Melbourne COVID-19 Arts Grants) and have an opportunity to have a better website, which will help my practice to be more sustainable. So stay tuned!! I am going into this world of unknown, complicated, infinite, void, virtual but exciting.

It is still my practice, still my day and still my love of creating.
