Day 44: Made as a brooch (first attempt)

After Day 42 I separated all the pipe structures into five small sculptures and stowed them away in a drawer. I love the free flow of building a structure of choice but I can’t keep just playing with them forever. It feels like getting nowhere and it is time to move forward to refine the design. For the last couple of days I experimented with the pipes by limiting its structural expansion. I remember that is how I have been working for my jewellery- Limiting its structural expansion! Will this be a good direction? I don’t know yet. I have no choice but to go.

But is making jewellery possible without limiting its structural expansion?

I am wearing a finished brooch with a ornament made from the parts and fittings of old watch.

Day 42  이후 처음으로 내가 지금까지 만들었던 파이프들을 다섯개의 작은 구조물로 만들어 일단 서랍에 넣어두었다. 자유롭게 흘러가게 두는 그런 구조를 사랑하기도 하지만 영원히 그것을 가지고 놀 수만은 없다. 방향을 잃은 듯 하였고 그래서 지금은 디자인을 깔끔하게 세련시키는 방향으로 한 발 나아갈 때이다. 지난 며칠간 구조적인 팽창을 제한하면서 파이프로 실험을 하였다. 기억하건데 그것이 내가 장신구를 만들어온 방법이었다-구조적인 팽창의 제한!! 이것이 올바른 방향일까? 아직은 확신할 수 없다. 그냥 가보는 수 밖에! 

그렇지만 공간의 팽창을 제한하지 않고 장신구를 만들 수 있는 방법은 없을까? 정말?
