Day 26 : Into the more playful!

Part of brass pipe structures with bolts and nuts I have made

The components above are part of the brass pipe structures I have made. This time I added a little more fun factor to them - nuts and bolts. Behind the structures there are tap and die tools. The short video clip below shows how they can be formed in my hands.

This is the first time I have used Vimeo for this blog. While I will have to work at getting better at making videos I think this one is good enough to show how interchangeable structures that can be made by cutting screw threads at the end of the pipes. Background tapping noise is from my lovely studio buddy- Ann Welton’s hammering.^^

Video is a better tool to show the process of making (and playing) than writing a long explanation. Another new trail for my blogging!

위의 작은 부속품들은 지금까지 내가 만든 황동 파이프 구조물의 일부분이다. 이번에는 여기에 즐거운 놀이 요소를 더해 보았다. - 너트와 볼트. 그 작은 구조물들 뒤에 보이는 것이 탭 & 다이 용구 들이다. 그리고 이 글 단락 아래에 이 구조물들이 어떻게 내 손에서 형태 지어지는지에 대한 짧은 비디오를 소개했다. 

Vimeo라는 서비스를 처음 내 블로그를 위해서 사용했는데 이유는 Squarespace에서는 유튜브나 비미오 링크만 활성화 될 수 있기 때문이었다. 아직 더 많은 테크닉과 편집 기술의 예술성이 필요하지만 그래도 파이프 끝에 나사날을 만들어 도입한 후 어떻게 교체가능한 구조가 만들어질 수 있는지를 보여주기에는 충분하다. 배경의 두드리는 소리는 같이 작업실을 쓰는 친절한 앤의 망치 소리이다. 

비디오는 많은 설명으로 쓰는 것보다 확실하게 그 과정을 보여줄 수 있는 훌륭한 도구인 것 같다. 내 블로그를 위한 또다른 새 시도였다.
