Day 59 : Work 59. Bricks

This ladder shape of new perforation is another finding from my drawer. The drawer where all my 10x10cm black mildsteel sample sheets I collected for years from the cabinet of my suppliers in Dandenong.

The image on the right is showing how it is formed into one structure, which has become one brooch in the end. I have made 2 brooches, one necklace on the way and 1 pair of earrings below.

These earrings have got one same black line structure and 2 different white flat geometric shape at the back. The way I created the black structure is part of my practice to use the ladder shape of perforation and it was quite intuitional and the white back was responding to the structure.

New earrings, “Bricks” with heated black mildsteel and white silver. My favourite creation for the last couple of months. I feel safe and fulfilled from this volatile structure after making.So that I feel like I will need a big statement but better not. Just trying to enjoy uncertainty and instability and not trying to say this is it:)

I would love to make a couple of more or several more of the structure in same colour as earrings, brooches and pendants, which could be my new addition for this upcoming Christmas season.
